James was born on 9 April 1850 in Poplar West, London, Middlesex, England. the son of Charles James Worsley and Ann (Emery) Worsley.
James's birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1850 in the Poplar Union district.[1]
James arrived in New Zealand 1853, aged 3 on the ship Oliver Lang
He married Mary Jane (Elliott) Worsley about 1874 in Featherstone, Wairarapa, New Zealand. [2]
They had seven children, and lived from 1853 to 1897 in the Wairarapa and Rangitikei districts in the North Island, New Zealand. In December 1897 James purchased a farm on Mountain Road, South Taranaki, New Zealand.
James passed away in 1917 aged 67 years old. [3]
James was buried at the Waihi Military Cemetery, Pikituroa Road, Normanby, Taranaki, New Zealand [4]
