Most sources say that Ezekiel Worthen was born in Amesbury, Essex, MA, March 18, 1710 to Ezekiel and Abigail Worthen. He married Hannah Currrier in 1732 and by 1740 they had moved to New Hampshire. [1]
He was active in town affairs, serving as a selectman in 1748, and serving as a member of the N.H. House of Representatives in 1776. [2]
He served as a soldier three times: as an ensign at the Siege of Louisburg, as commander of a company in the French and Indian War, and in charge of troops in the Portsmouth, N.H. area in the Revolutionary War. [3]Ezekiel served as the paymaster for Capts. William Stillson and Samuel Nay in 1776. He also took the Oath of Allegiance the same year.[4]
Ezekiel and Hannah were the parents of at least four children. He died September 17, 1783 and is buried in Kensington, N.H. [5]
