World War I, 1914-1918 He embarked 16 October 1914 on HMNZT 4 or HMNZT 11 the vessels Tahiti or Athenic, He was a Private in the Canterbury Infantry Battalion, Main Body. He was reported injured [1] at Gallipoli, and invalided back to NZ aboard the Tofua in September 1915. [2]
