Biography
Robert Wren was born in 1717 and baptised at Sedgefield, Durham on 7 February 1717. He was the son of Robert Wren and Rebecca Farrer.
On 24 September 1734, he was apprenticed to William Ellison of Newcastle, merchant.
He married Isabella Ellison, the daughter of William, at Jarrow on 29 December 1746.[1]
Robert and Isabella had at least three children:
- Charles Wren m Mary Boydell, widow of Edward Reynolds
- Cecilia Wren died unmarried, the last of the Wrens
- Isabella Wren m John Bacon
He was buried at Auckland St Andrew in September 1751.
