George Wren was born in 1878, He was the son of John Wren and Emma Conyard. [1] George was baptised on 28th July 1878, in Waltham Abbey, Essex. The parish registere noted that the family lived in Crooked Mile. George's father was a labourer. [2]
In 1881, George was residing with his parents and five siblings, in Woollard Street, Waltham Abbey, Essex. [3]
In 1891, George was seen with his parents and sister living in Waltham, Holy Cross, Essex. He was 12-years-old. [4]
In 1901, George was still living at home with his parents in Waltham Abbey. Two of his siblings were in the household, along with a niece, Grace. George was employed as a labourer in a cordite factory. [5]
