Research Notes
1) No verifiable records found on Familysearch.org. DKM 10:55, 12 December 2017 (EST)
Details for profile of "Elizabeth" Unknown on FamilySearch . No sources cited. Gives death year of 1738, indicating she died after her husband; his January 1736 will names his wife as "Elizabeth".
2) An unsourced Find A Grave Memorial names Edward Brantley's wife as "Elizabeth Clay," b: 1680 - d: 1738 in Virginia. See Find A Grave: Memorial #141379927 - Elizabeth Clay Brantley.
3) An Ancestry.com Family Tree names Edward Brantley's wife as "Elizabeth Martha Clay," b: 1680 - d: 1738. It says her parents were: William Clay, 1640–1676; and his wife, Judith (Corker) Clay, 1654–1688. Both parents were born in Isle of Wight, Virginia. They married in 1671 in James City, Virginia. Judith was the daughter of Captain William Corker, b: 31 Jan. 1621 • James City, Virginia; d: 26 Feb 1677 • Jamestown, Virginia. See: deleted broken link to Ancestry (probably unsourced) family tree viewable at a public library or with paid subscription to Ancestry.com.
There is no documentation that confirms Elizabeth's maiden name as Clay or Corker, there are no references found thus far that gives her maiden name at all. I personally don't consider unsourced Ancestry pedigrees as any kind of evidence, especially when they are behind a paywall. DKM

Please see comment on Edward Brantley's profile (Brantley-144) from Ken Brantley. The surname for Elizabeth that married Edward Brantley is not Clay. The Find A Grave: Memorial #141379927 is faulty. It may be a good idea to remove the references to Elizabeth Clay from this profile.
Elizabeth Clay (Clay-623), daughter of William Clay and Judith Corker married John Brantley (Brantley-25).
I appreciate the comment, but since there is such controversy surrounding her potential maiden name, I'd just as soon leave the references so that others who aren't aware will know that we know it probably isn't her maiden name and therefore keep someone else from adding it, thinking they're helping. Ken Brantley and I have been over this before.
Elizabeth Clay (Clay-623), daughter of William Clay and Judith Corker married John Brantley (Brantley-25).
