Biography
Patrick Edwin Wrenn was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on 7 March 1911, the son of James Wrenn.[1] He enlisted in the United States Navy on 21 April 1942.[2] Patrick died while serving in the U.S. Navy at San Diego, California on 30 January 1944.[3] Patrick is buried with his wife, Eliana Girouard in Saint Charles Cemetery in Blackstone, Worcester County, Massachusetts.[4]
Death Notice: Seaman from Woonsocket Dies at Hospital in San Diego - The family of Patrick Edwin Wrenn, 31, yeoman 2c, U.S.N., 456 Priviledge street, Woonsocket, were notified yesterday [30 January 1944] by Navy Department telegram of his death at the Naval Hospital, San Diego, Cal. Only detail given in the telegram was that his death had been caused by a compound fracture of the skull. He enlisted in the Navy on April 21, 1942, and received his training at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Ill. He is survived by his wife, Elaine G. (Girouard) Wrenn; his parents, James and Catherine (McQueeney) Wrenn; three brothers, James E., Timothy J. and Eugene Wrenn, and a sister, Miss Margaret Wrenn, all of Woonsocket.[5]
