Biography
Fanny was the daughter of James Wright and Margaret Peachman.
Her Death Notice reads:
"EVANS, Fanny - June 15, 1948, at her residence, Hartley Vale, near Lithgow, dearly loved mother of William, Charles and Frank, Florrie (Mrs. A.B. Costello), Dorothy (Mrs. C. Gurney), Minnie (Mrs. J. Taylor) and Miss Fanny. Relict of the late William Evans, in her 69th year. At rest."
An article in Lithgow Mercury dated Wednesday, June 16,1948 reads:
Hartley Vale Death.
Mrs. F. Evans.
One of the most widely known and highly respected residents of the Hartley Vale district, she having lived there and at Marrangaroo all her life, Mrs. fanny Evans, of "Southley", Hartley Vale, passed away last night at the age of 68 years.
Mrs. Evans had been in ill health for some years, but was taken more seriously ill last night and passed away at 10pm.
She is survived by a family of 3 sons and 4 daughters. They are Messrs. William E. (Bathurst), Charles and Frank (Hartley Vale) also Mesdames, A.B. Costello (Sth. Bowenfels), C. Gurney (Hartley Vale), J.T. Taylor (Broadmeadow) and Miss Fanny Evans (Hartley Vale). To them our deepest sympathy.
Born at Marrangaroo, Mrs. Evans lived at Hartley Vale since her wedding. *Her husband predeceased her 4 years ago.
An extremely good citizen and lovable personality, Mrs. Evans enjoyed a wide circle of friends, who will mourn her passing.
The funeral has been set down to leave the parlors of Matthews and Lemon to-morrow afternoon after a service commencing at 2:30pm. The remains will be laid beside those of Mrs. Evans's late husband in Church of England portion of Bowenfels cemetery. (Ang. O, 31)
