Lin is the third daughter and third of six children of Calvin Wright and Betty Heath.
The family genealogist, Lin earned an A.A. in Pre-professional studies from Bristol County Community College in Fall River Massachusetts; a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in History and a concentration in Microbiology from the University of New Hampshire; and a M.A. in American and New England Studies from the University from the University of Southern Maine (USM-one of the few such programs, ANES was a wonderful program which was recently discontinued. She successfully completed the genealogy certificate through Boston University.
Recently retired as administrative specialist at USM, she is actively serving as historian for her local church, teaches genealogy as part of the Senior College at USM's Lewiston-Auburn College and sometimes for Lewiston Adult Education, is Registrar of the Mary Dillingham-Burnt Meadow Chapter of the DAR, and served on the Board of Directors of the Androscoggin Historical Society. She is currentlyPresident of the Asbury Grove Historical Society.
Lin has presented talks including: "'Death to him was sudden': David Green of Minot, ME, and the 1840 Lexington steamboat disaster" and "A few bad days in Lisbon Falls: April 6-8, 1901."
Lin teachs at Lewiston Auburn Senior College.
Now that I have been on here long enough to know what I am doing my plan is to enter all my known ancestors. On the profile for at least one parent I intend to list all known children rather than creating a profile for each child (which is what I did when I first started). I am working to add sources (I still have a few unsourced profiles, but the number is dropping).
The next step after entering ancestors, listing their children, and sourcing profiles will be to add census details for my ancestors.
I will add anyone who asks onto the trusted list for any profile I manage, add you as a manager or, if it isn't my direct ancestor, transfer a profile to you upon request. Send me a message and it would be good to include how you are related to the person whose profile it is.
I took a long break from WikiTree, but I think I am back. I am starting a new challenge for myself to review and update the page for each ancestor up to the level of my 5th great grandparents. Because I get distracted and forgetful sometimes I decided to take the 255 people and use a random number generator to pick who I do in what order. So here it the list by random ahnentafel number (excluding unidentified):
64, 98, 197, 15, 117, 211, 156, 241, 29, 48, 58, 185, 200, 70, 245, 159, 56, 158, 219, 40, 60, 85, 49, 31, 174, 10, 33, 71, 52, 157, 181, 96, 228, 55, 13, 47, 75, 229, 94, 147, 18, 126, 12, 121, 73, 7, 178, 145, 42, 227, 87, 199, 146, 234, 17, 243, 50, 92, 225, 68, 217, 14, 90, 114, 78, 231, 65, 194, 188, 122, 237, 63, 43, 198, 130, 253, 99, 184, 104, 102, 236, 230, 168, 34, 37, 135, 149, 119, 171, 105, 1, 24, 67, 11, 151, 20, 180, 97, 187, 72, 66, 84, 116, 53, 175, 210, 54, 35, 115, 172, 189, 51, 129, 128, 89, 232, 226, 131, 112, 3, 252, 57, 44, 144, 108, 233, 195, 150, 113, 136, 118, 191, 216, 41, 38, 120, 127, 123, 137, 9, 88, 26, 101, 25, 173, 182, 59, 8, 32, 177, 45, 28, 27, 19, 95, 246, 242, 69, 201, 39, 190, 100, 74, 6, 30, 86, 2, 22, 169, 247, 196, 235, 107, 134, 109, 148, 183, 239, 61, 224, 36, 4, 186, 91, 192, 5, 21, 93, 103, 240, 16, 218, 23, 106, 170, 244, 176, 62, 254, 238, 255, 79, 179, 46
Some of my ancestors beginning in the 6th generation are unidentified, so I removed them from that list and moved them to this list of roots to identify:
United States
England
Scotland
Ireland
Since this is the year to learn about and honor our connections on Wikitree, I have created a space page where I have highlighted some of my WikiTree connections.

We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.
If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.
On behalf of the England Project, I would like to thank you for all your contributions towards the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve English profiles!
I'd also like to share our annual Newsletter with you. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading a bit about what has gone on in 2022 and what our Project has achieved.
The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members every 6 months just to make sure everything is going well. There's no need to reply to this message unless you have something you'd like to let us know about (e.g. if you would like to change your team choices or provide other feedback). We will be in touch with you again in the middle of next year when we do our annual check-in with project members.
On behalf of all the Leaders, I wish you a peaceful and productive 2023.
Best wishes,
Joan, England Project Leader

I wrote to you recently as part of the England Project's six-monthly check-in with our project members. I haven't heard back from you. I hope you are well.
If you could please drop me a quick note to confirm whether you are still interested in the project and wish to remain an active member, that would be very helpful.
If we do not hear from you within the next 2 weeks, we will assume you are no longer active in the England Project and remove you from our list of project members. You would be most welcome to re-apply to join the project at a later time by signing-up on the project’s G2G welcome post.
Many thanks!
Ian, England Project Leader

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes,
Betty -- 1776 Project Leader

I believe we may be 6th cousins once removed on your father's side. I would love to exchange research on our common ancestors. Your 3rd great-grandfather George Wright married Martha Shipstone, and one of her uncles on her mother's side is my 5th great-grandfather; Robert Longthorp.
Hope to hear from you, Kind regards,
Katherine Longthorp
Thanks for your participation during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree over the weekend. I hope you’ll join us for the Source-a-thon this fall.
Kind regards,

Thanks so very much for your participation in the spring Clean-a-thon! Every suggestion you cleared made our Tree that much better. The WikiTree community appreciates YOU!

Our Team Massachusetts Chat page is up and running at:https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1023588/team-massachusetts-2020-c-a-t-chat . Included are links to Watchlist errors and WT errors. Have fun this weekend, and stay safe. Bob
The Spring 2020 Clean-a-Thon is taking registration now at this [1]. If you want to participate as a member of Team Massachusetts, go to the post and answer indicating the team name. You need to answer the question so Eowyn can officially add you to the Team. We did a good job last year. Let's see what we can do this time around. Bob

I have discovered that we are 10th cousins once removed. Edmond Hobart and Margaret Dewey are your ninth, my tenth great grandparents.
I loved reading your profile. I have long admired intelligent, educated women. I am very pleased to meet another cousin.
Sincerely,
Sharon
I'm the Coordinator of WikiTree's Massachusetts Project inside of which some of your research falls.
It looks like the sources you are using are good ones. If you'd like to learn more about the project, visit:
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Massachusetts
There's information there, too, about the types of sources we use (and what we avoid). A good source of Massachusetts information is ma-vitalrecords.org
Consider yourself having communicated with a project-- you don't need to fill out the form again for Massachusetts-related profiles you're working on.
