Biography
Isaac is a 5th generation descendant of Mayflower passenger George Soule.[1]
Isaac Wright, son of Isaac and Mary (Cole) Wright, was born 3 Sept 1736, in Plympton, Masssachusetts. [2][1]
Isaac's wife was Faith Chandler (d. of Lt. Zebedee Chandler and Lydia (1st wife) of Plympton). They were married in Plympton 2 July 1761.[3][4]
The United States Census of 1790 listed Isaac with 4 white males sixteen and upward, 1 white male younger than 16 and one white female.[4]
Isaac wrote a will dated 20 Sep 1796, Plymton, and proved 12 Jan 1797. He named his wife, Faith; sons Billey, Isaac, Chandler, Nathaniel, Caleb, and Winslow; and daughters Molley and Hannah. Sons Billy and Isaac were executors.[4][5] In 1796, his widow Faith was appointed guardian to his minor children, Winslow (above 14 years) and Hannah (under 14 years).[6] His inventory was taken on 6 December 1799 in Plymton. An account of his estate by Billya and Isaac Wright was recorded which included the sale of personal estate, appraisers, debts paid, the personal estate fell short, and administration fees.[7]
He died in Plympton 29 Oct 1796 at age 60 1m 15 days.[4] He and his wife were buried in the old Cemetery in Plympton,[4] now known as the Hillcrest Cemetery.[8]
