The Mercury Tuesday 17 July 1934 p 10 Article George Thomas Wright, of Sandford, sought a dissolution of his marriage with Frances May Wright on the ground of desertion. He was represented by Mr. A. E. Richardson. George Thomas Wright said that ho married Frances May Wright in September, 1907. There were 10 children, three of them under age. He asked for the custody of two of them, the third being cared for by his sister. He had first had trouble with his wife in 1927, when on coming out of hospital he noticed she "had cooled off" towards him, and a little later she left him. He saw her at New Norfolk, but about April, 1928, she said she was going to Deloraine to her mother, and he had not seen her since. His wife was in the Huon at present, though he had not seen her. A decree nisi was granted, with custody of the two children, Daphne and Betty June.

George Thomas Wright, of Sandford, sought a dissolution of his mar- a flage with Frances May Wright on the c ground of desertion. Mr. A. E. Richard- a son appeared for petitioner, who said S that the parties were married at Sorell on September 8, 1907. There were ten children and custody was sought in respect of two under the age of 10. The first trouble occurred in 1927, ii witness said, when they were living at c Brighton. He had been in hospital and ri when he returned home, found that his wife was continually going out at night. On January 15, 1928, his wife went away and he found her at New Norfolk. His wife made repeated promises to return to him, but failed to I do so. He last saw her in April of 1928 and he understood she was in the Huon district at present. His wife, he said, had gone away with another man. Petitioner admitted that he had been before the court charged in respect of a girl, and had been released on bond on the understanding that he would marry the girl as soon as his divorce proceedings were finalised. The decree nisi was granted, and petitioner was given the custody of two of the children.
