Mindwell Wright was born on 2 October 1694 in Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts to Capt. Benjamin Wright (1660-1743) and Thankful Taylor (1663-1701).


She married Stephen Belding Jr. on 24 December 1713 in Northfield, Franklin, Massachusetts.

  1. Lydia Belding born 1 April 1715.
  2. Thankful Belding born 6 January 1718. She married Capt. Joseph Stebbins (1720-1784) about 1741.
  3. Stephen Belding III born 1 July 1720. He married 1) Abigail Unknown (1725-1764) and 2) Martha Johnson (born about 1725) in 1764. He died on 3 July 1813 in Winchester, Cheshire, New Hampshire, USA.
  4. Mary Belding born 9 July 1722. She married Moses Kellogg (1720-1815) in 1740. Mary died on 4 December 1766 in Sheffield, Berkshire, Massachusetts.
  5. Mindwell Belding born 25 April 1724.
  6. Moses Belding, twin, born 28 February 1726. He married Sarah Chamberlain (born 1721) in 1746 in Northfield, Franklin, Massachusetts. Moses died in 1826 in Winchester, Cheshire, New Hampshire, USA.
  7. Aaron Belding, twin, born 28 February 1726. He was killed on 23 July 1748 at Beldings rock by the Indians.
  8. Martha Belding born 19 January 1728. She married Samuel Bardwell (1739-1809) on 17 March 1763 in Ashfield, Franklin, Massachusetts. Martha died on 16 January 1813 in Ashfield, Franklin, Massachusetts, USA.
  9. Titus Belding born 6 January 1732. He married Anna Carew (1730-1802) on 16 November 1752.


No record of when Mindwell died yet. She is not in the Center Cemetery records where her husband was buried in 1736. Perhaps she moved with one of her children to another place after he died. However, the record of her son Aaron's death at the hand of the Indians states that he was on the way to go to his mother's. That was on 23 July 1748; so she was still alive on that date.
