Born in Pendleton, OR. Lived there in the same house with the same parents until I spent two years at Oregon State University. I decided College wasn't for me (yet) and picked up much of my stuff from my parents and moved to Anchorage, AK. Met my ex-husband as a Lieutenant in the Air Force at Elmendorf. He went to Thailand at the height of Vietnam. Served 15 months there and returned to me in Anchorage to pack up and move to Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls, MT. Then it was off to16 years dodging the Permanent Change of Station, at Rein-Main AFB (at the time cleverly disguised as Frankfurt International Airport) husband retiring there and buying a house. About year 14, (18 of my marriage) my husband decided he wanted to be married to someone else. I stayed and sold the house and split the profits with him (hefty profit because the Berlin Wall had just fallen and people were flooding in, a sellers market.) I returned to the States the next year and took a job as a Soldier And Family Assistance Program Manager in Portland, OR which lasted until my retirement two years ago. In the meantime I bought my own house and packed away money so I could travel. I've been to every State, Guam, Germany, Yugoslavia (crossed the day hey opened the formerly communist border, before the split), Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, the British Isles (just did Ireland with my Foster Grandaughter), and every country in Europe you could get to before the falling of the iron curtain as well as Russia, Turkey, And Egypt. Now to chase Genes while I travel.

Hi Wanda,

There are reasons behind the eighth point in our Honor Code: "We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information." A source provides a way to find out more about the person. Showing sources reduces confusion and duplicates.

Here is what our Sources help page says. It has lots of ideas: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

The Sources Style Guide shows how to enter sources in the biography.

A free and very good website to find sources for your family/ancestors is Family Search.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Hi Wanda,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.
