MRS RUTH A. KELLY
Mrs Ruth Alice Kelly, who lately passed away at Quorn, was the third daughter of the late William and Agnes Wright of Ightham Farm. She was born at Auburn in 1861 and at the age of sixteen removed with her parents to the Quorn district where she resided for 66 years.
At 19 she married Mr James Maxwell Kelly, of Kingswood, who was the manager of the Estate of Whyte and Counsell, six miles from Quorn. Later Mr Kelly moved to Itali Itali Farm which is still occupied by the family. Mrs Kelly was a widow since the lst Aug. 1930.
The deceased was of a loveable disposition, and made numerous friends during her long residence in the north. In conjunction with her late husband she played an active and valuable part in the affairs of the Richman Creek district.
Her age and growing infirmity gradually compelled her to relinquish all interest and since 1937 she was an inmate of the Quorn Hospital, where she was an uncomplaining patient until her death. She was a lifelong adherent of the Methodist Church and was interred in the Quorn cemetery.
