Biography

Lucy Wright was born about 1809 in Bradwell-on-sea, Essex, England. She was the daughter of Hannah Barber and John Wright. She was christened on 24 Jun 1810 at Bradwell-on-sea.^[1][2][3]

On 28 Feb 1836 Lucy married James Harris Rodda at Spitalfields Christ Church in Stepney, London, England.^[4] The couple had seven children:^[5][6][7]

In 1841, Lucy and James lived at Willow Place, St Margaret, Middlesex, England with their first three children, Julia, Benjamin, and Mary.^[5] In 1851, Lucy and James lived at Tillingham, Essex, England with their six children: Julia, Benjamin, Mary, Elizabeth, Lucy and James. Lucy's father, John Wright, lived with them.^[6] In 1861, Lucy and James lived at Shore Road, Tillingham with their daughter Lucy, their sons James and George, and their grandson, Alfred W. Rodda.^[7] In 1871, Lucy and James lived at Tillingham with their daughter Elizabeth, their sons James and George, and their grandson, William A. Rodda.^[8] In 1881, Lucy and James lived at Tillingham with their daughter Elizabeth, and a young boarder, Willie Jerra from Paris, France.^[9]

Lucy Rodda died on 21 Nov 1883. On 26 Nov 1883 she was buried in St. Nicholas Church Graveyard in Tillingham, Essex, England.^[10]
