Louisa was born in the first quarter of 1849 at Witchford, Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England.[1] She was two years old at the time of the 1851 census (Louisa mis-transcribed as 'Lugasor'), living with her parents, three older siblings and baby brother in Witchford, Cambridgeshire. Her father was a farmer of 250 acres.[2]
In 1881 and 1891, Louisa was living as housekeeper for her widowed father and her youngest brother Samuel Henry, in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. She was not married.[3][4]
At the time of the census in 1901 and 1911, Louisa was living at 87 West Hill Drive, Mansfield. Her occupation was recorded as 'temperance lecturer' in 1901 and 'own means' in 1911. Brother Joseph and his family lived next door.[5][6]
Research Notes
Louisa was unmarried living with her father in 1881 and 1891; I have detached her from Samuel Ward who's profile she was linked to as wife.[7]
