He married first, Chloe Swift, in Connecticut, on May 6 or 9, 1811 ("Worthington" cites the marriage date as April 21, 1811). Chloe died on June 29, 1815, at the age of 29.[2][3]They had one child:[2][4][5]
Edwin Swift Wright, born March 31, 1815; married Lucia Eliza Dutton; became a minister; died November 28, 1888.[2][6]
He married second, Orlinda Munson, on July 31, 1817, in Lanesborough, Massachusetts. Orlinda died on June 4, 1825, at the age of 29. They had two children:[2][7]

Rev. Worthington was described as a Congregational or Presbyterian clergyman. He and his wife were living in Woodstock, Vermont, in 1850, where he was then pastor of the Woodstock Congregational Church. By July of 1860, he and his wife had moved to Pomfret, New York, where they lived with their daughter, Katie, and her husband, James Putnam.[9][10][11]
His wife, Catharine, died on May 27, 1867, at the age of 71.[2]
By the summer of 1870, now retired from the ministry, he was living with his son, Edwin, also a clergyman, and daughter-in-law Lucia, in Pomfret.[12]
The Rev. Worthington Wright died on October 28, 1873 at the age of 88. He is buried in the Putnam Family Lot at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, New York. His Find A Grave: Memorial #46467979 says he died in "Ripley, Chautauqua County, New York," but no corroborating sources have been found.[2][8][13]
