DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with John:

Wright-7436 and Wright-26083 are not ready to be merged because: There is no documentary evidence for birth or death dates for either of the John's nor forr Catherine Persinger's death date to know if she was dead beofre the marriage to Elizabeth Walker. The trees for John Wright -a son of Peter Wright and Jane Hughart--on Ancestory show John with numerous wives and dozens of children....none documented. In addition, the marriage to Elizabeth Walker is in Louisa County, quite a distance from Allegheny County during that period before automobiles. Seems unlikely the same guy would back to Louisa Co. to meet or marry Elizabeth. Citing family trees on Ancestry as a source is not good documentation

Wright-7436 and Wright-26083 appear to represent the same person because: I believe that these two Johns are the same person. Both were born in Botetourt County, VA. The John who is listed as being born in 1765 and married to Catherine Persinger in 1785 might have indeed married her first, but I believe that this is the same John who also married Elizabeth Walker in 1794. Catherine's date of death was not listed, so she might have passed away before 1794, when he then married Elizabeth.

There is also significant DNA evidence to suggest that "my" John Wright (married to Elizabeth) is the son of Peter and Jane Wright. My father and I match with Katherine (Miller) Spencer, who is listed as a DNA match to 1765 John Wright on his Wikitree profile. My father and I also have at least 15 DNA matches on Ancestry DNA that descend from other confirmed children of Peter Wright, including descendants of Mary Wright Smith, Jennie Wright Estill, Martha Wright Estill, and Thomas Wright.
