JAMES8 WRIGHT (THOMAS7, JOHN6, THOMAS5, ROBERT4, JOHN3, JOHN2, HENRY1) was born Abt. 1630 in Kelvedon, Essex, England, and died December 24, 1728 in (age 88) Wethersfield, Hartford Co., Connecticut. He married DORCAS WEEDE November 20, 1660 in Middletown, Middlesex Co., Connecticut (Source: Wethersfield (CT) Vital Records.), daughter of JONAS WEEDE. She was born 1640 in Wethersfield, Hartford Co., Connecticut, and died December 24, 1692 in Middletown, Middlesex Co., Connecticut.

Notes for JAMES WRIGHT: James Wright owned and occupied the south part of "Wright's Island." After he moved away, it is said he was the first settler of Portland, Middletown, Middlesex Co., Connecticut. James and Dorcas had 7 children, James Jr (b.1661, m. Mary/Mercy Rose, had 12 children, Mary (died a child) , Elizabeth (m. Isaac Buck), James III (m. Lois Loomis), Daniel (m. Eunice Loomis), Jacob (died an infant), Hannah, Hezekiah (m. Wright-6246 and Wright-573 appear to represent the same person because: Dates don't align perfectly but marriage and children do. Merging seems appropriate, but I defer to others.
