Sewall Wright is Notable.

Sewall was born in 1889 in Melrose, Massachusetts to Philip Green Wright and Elizabeth Quincy Sewall Wright. His brothers were also influential thinkers—the aeronautical engineer Theodore Paul Wright and the political scientist Quincy Wright.

Sewall Wright was an American geneticist who worked on evolutionary theory and founded population genetics with Ronald Fisher and J.B.S. Haldane. He discovered the inbreeding coefficient and methods of computing it in pedigree animals. He extended this work to populations, computing the amount of inbreeding between members of populations. The inbreeding coefficient or coefficient of relationship is a measure of the degree of consanguinity between two individuals. This coefficient can be calculated for an individual as a measure of the degree of pedigree collapse within that individual's genealogy. [1] [2]

Ironically, his parents were first cousins.

Sewall Wright and Orville Wright are 10th cousins 1x removed, both descended from John Wright. Both of them have unbroken lines of male descent from John Wright which would make one hell of a Y-DNA study, if we can find their living male descendents.

His GGF Beriah Green was a famous abolitionist.

His 5th GGF Samuel Sewall was a judge in the Salem Witch Trials.

His 6th GGF, Philip Smith was a supposed victim of witchcraft.

His 7th GGFs, Nathaniel Foote, Samuel Smith and John Tower were part of the Great Puritan Migration.

His 10th GGF John Wright was a member of nobility in England.

Sewall Wright and fellow geneticist Thomas Hunt Morgan are 10th cousins, 1x removed.

John Steinbeck is his 8th cousin.

Samuel Sewall and Elizabeth Quincy are his 3rd great-grandparents.

In 1900 census, he is living with his parents and siblings in Galesburg Township, Knox, Illinois.[3]

His draft registration card shows him in Washington, D.C. in 1917.[4]

In 1920 census, he is living with his parents in Wheaton, Montgomery, Maryland.[5]

He married Louise Lane Williams (b. 1894) on 10 Sep 1921 in Licking, Ohio. Her parents F.M. Williams and Clara Lane attended.[6]

In 1930 census he is living with his wife Louise and their three children (Richard, Robert and Elizabeth) in Chicago, Illinois.[7]

He died on March 3 1988 in Madison, Wisconsin and is buried there.[8] [9]
