The 1860 , 1870 and 1880
US Census show Morrison and his family living in Vernon Township, Shiawassee County, Michigan.
He passed away 7 September 1896 probably in Sumpter Township, Wayne County, Michigan, but no death record has been found. Morrison is likely buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon, Michigan where two of his children, Francis Wright and DeForest Wright have marked graves. They were buried in what appears to be a family plot with a lot of empty space, but there are no tombstones for Morrison or his first wife Cynthia.
