Biography

Hannah Wright, the daughter of Deacon Samuel and Margaret Wright [1] was born in England in 1626,[citation needed]. Hannah, Samuel, Margaret, and other family members were part of the Puritan Great Migration to New England. The family settled along the Connecticut River in Western Massachusetts.

Hannah married Thomas Stebbins in November 1645 in Springfield, Massachusetts. [1] [2] Thomas was born about 1619/20, at Bocking, Essex, England son of Rowland and Sarah (Whiting) Stebbins. [3] [4]

They had nine children together: Samuel, Thomas, Joseph, Joseph, Sarah, Edward, Benjamin, and Hannah. [5]

Hannah, the mother, died two weeks after her youngest child's birth, on October 16, 1660 in Springfield. [6][7] [1] [4] [8]

After Hannah's death, Thomas married second Abigail (Burt) (Dall) Munn on September 14, 1676. [1] [3] [8]

Thomas died at Springfield on September 5, 1683. [8]

Hannah is listed on a 30 generation search as my 10th Great Grandmother. Kathleen (Rogan) Foster Rogan-205 on wikitree. I will soon be doing a DNA test and will be interested to see the family line...as some of my Great grandfathers through 30 generations include King John (Magna Carta Project) , King Henry lll, (Plantagenet) and Angus MacDonald (Lord of the Isles)
There is a question as to whether Hannah was Samuel's daughter or his sister. She is 20 years younger than he is, making it possible that she could be a sister or a daughter. She is not mentioned in his will. Samuel's other supposed child, Benjamin, is only 4 years younger than Samuel.
