SUCCUMBS IN OAKLEY

Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Dent, 78 years old, wife of Col. John Marshall Dent of Oakley, St. Mary’s County. MD, died at the home of her son, John Marshall Dent, jr., at Oakley, Friday night. Funeral services will be conducted at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Oakley, at 2 o’clock today.

The home of Col. and Mrs. Dent, which they had occupied 50 years, Wiis destroyed by fire four weeks ago. The shock caused by the fire is believed to have hastened the death of Mrs. Dent, who had been an invalid several years. Col. Dent, who is 81 years old, is ill from shock. Mrs. Dent was the daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. William F. Wright of Atlanta. Besides her husband. she leaves eight children: John Marshall, jr.; Elliott E., Frances Catherine and Ida Louise Dent of Oakley; W. Gilbert Dent and Mrs. Wade H. Blackistone of Washington; Wright B. Dent of Baltimore and Walter P. Dent of Philadelphia, and 18 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
