ASA "AD" WRIGHT was born in 1811 to Orson Wright and Elizabeth Judd. Asa was married to Lucy W. Cabiness on 20 Jun 1837[1] by Rev. J.G. Bergen.
AD was a merchant, a soldier, and a probate judge.
During the Mexican War, Captain Asa Wright served as the commander of "F" Company, 4th Regiment of Illinois Volunteers. He was present at the Siege of Veracruz and the Battle of Cerro Gordo (where members of his regiment absconded with General Santa Anna's wooden leg).
