Biography

George was born in 1924. He passed away in 1983.

What follows is a mix of oral history and fact passed to George's oldest son Richard Wright from George and collaborated by stories passed to his grandson Robert Wright by his wife Patricia. It is further collaborated by oral interview with his oldest living child. Facts are held within materials inherited by Robert Wright, but are still being processed to this day.

George Wright, six months prior to being discharged from the US Marine Corp married Patricia Riordan on June 27th 1946, at St Johns Catholic Church in Canton, Ohio. Around the year 1953, he finished building the basement of 2410 45th St Canton, Ohio. Using little bits of each paycheck to pay for the cinder block until he had enough. He personally built the basement with contractors finishing the home later.

George served in the Civil Conservation Corp assisting with P-206 (Nevada), and SCS-33 (Wooster, Ohio). He separated with the CCC on March 27th, 1942. In December of 1942 he enlisted into the Marine Corp.

After returning home, George made a career working in the steel mills of Canton, Ohio. In 1983, George passed away as a result of Colon cancer. The same disease would later claim his oldest son Richard Larry Wright.
