Leslie was born in 1883. He is the son of William Wright and Olive Olmstead. His mother died sometime in the 1890s and his father in 1899. Leslie, his sister Charlotte (Lottie), and brother William H. all went to live with Elizabeth Wright in the Township of Potsdam, St. Lawrence County, New York. She was their father's sister. Leslie, who later preferred his middle name George, married a Selena V. (last name unknown) in 1905 and they lived in the Village of Potsdam at various rented homes on Bay Street and Hamilton Street. Selena died in early 1930 and George married for a second time to Grace Elnorah Stacy on 9 September, 1930 on the Village of Potsdam. They later lived at 41 Pierpont Avenue in Potsdam Village. Grace and George had two daughters, Mary and Marie, both born in 1939 in Potsdam. George worked for many years for the St. Lawrence County Milk Company, first as a butter maker, then a milk chemist and eventually the Manager of the Butter Plant. Around 1935, he went to work as a truck driver for the Township of Potsdam. George was of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair according to his 1918 World War I draft card registration in Potsdam. George died in 1955 and is buried at Saint John the Baptist Cemetery in Madrid, St. Lawrence County, New York.
