Since you uploaded a GEDCOM, I wanted to give you the link to the GEDCOM help pages. The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches with existing profiles at WikiTree. One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

First welcome to WikiTree. I saw that you just joined WikiTree Glad to have you aboard.
The reason I am writing is that I noticed you chose our Integrators Challenge for this month.
Being that you have not become fully noted as a genealogist and not familiar with how we do things yet, please note that one must be with WikiTree about 3 months to participate. Actually the Integrator challenge is an advanced challenge that we offer.
When you complete a new profile for one of your relatives just skip over checking a challenge when trying to save the profile.
If you have any questions please get with a greeter and they will be glad to help you along the way. Also you can go here to see how we recommend newcomers to get started:

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Sources are very important here on Wikitree, especially on Pre-1700 profiles. It is how we show where we got the info and help others find it too. Find out more about sources here and more detailed info here.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. If you have any questions, be sure to use the "reply link" for this comment so that I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment on my profile page.

Perhaps you would like to join the South African Roots Project ? Besides links to sources, there are help pages that might also be useful.
South Africa as such and the provinces did not exist until the 20th century - please ‘’hide’’ the automatic place names suggestions for pre-1900 South African profiles!
I am pleased to confirm you as a Family Member of WikiTree, and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
I would suggest starting with the How-to pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site
Happy tree climbing
