Frank Lee Wright was born in Bronson KS on 16 Mar 1884[1]. He was the son of John Wright and Laura Wilson. Frank's father passed away just three days after Frank's ninth birthday.

Frank married Nancy "Nannie" Leota (Busenbark) Wright (1888-1975) on 17 Aug 1910 at the home of the bride's parents in Lyndon, Osage Co, KS[3]. He was superintendent of schools in Bucklin, KS while Nannie was a school principal. Nannie was the daughter of Dow Busenbark (1853-1925) and Olive Aurilla Coxen (1855-1923). Frank and Nannie would have three sons:
By the time Frank registered for the WWI draft[4], he and Nannie were living in Greeley, Weld Co, CO. He listed his position as teacher at Colorado State Teachers College. He was described as medium height and slender build, with brown eyes and light hair.
In the 1920 census Frank (age 35) was the married head of household in Weld, Colorado, United States.[5]
