Biography

Henry was born about 1876. He is the son of Joseph Wright and Sarah Wagstaff. ^[1][2]

The 1891 and 1901 censuses show him living with his parents and siblings at Thelwall Post Office and working as an assistant in the business.^[3][4]

By 1911 both his brother Alfred and sister Jane were married with families of their own, but Jane is shown as being at the post office on the night of the census^[5] and Alfred was still a grocer's assistant^[6] and probably still working in the family business.

Their mother died in November 1911^[7] and their father just a few weeks later in January 1912.^[8]

Henry married Agnes Highley at St James Church, Latchford, Warrington, Lancashire in 1912.^[9] They were both aged 36 and Agnes's father's was named Joseph Highley. Henry was still at Thelwall Post Office at the time of his death in 1932. He was buried in Thelwall on 13th February 1932^[10]

Saturday 20 July 1918 he was noted as having sent a wreath to the funeral at Lymm of Private Roland Brookes who died shortly after enrolling in the army.
