[ Warning: several sources, including some older NEHGS volumes, have her second husband as Nicholas Clap. Great Migration has Thomas Clap. The children born at Scituate are of Thomas Clap.]
Abigail (Wright) Holbrook migrated to New England during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640). Join: Puritan Great Migration Project Discuss: pgm
Abigail Wright was born in England about 1623, she came to New England in 1630 with her father Richard Wright. [1]
She married first, about 1640, likely at Braintree, Massachusetts, Robert Sharpe, as his second wife. [2] Robert was born in England about 1615, son of Richard Sharpe of Islington, Norfolk, England. [1][3]
They were first of Braintree, then went to Seekonk, Massachusetts as first settlers. In 1643, Robert Sharpe had an 8 acre lot at Seekonk, adjoining that of his father-in-law Richard. [1] In 1645, Robert Sharpe owned land in Rehoboth. [4] In August 1650, Robert Sharpe and Peter Aspinwall purchased a farm of 150 acres at Muddy River. They removed to Boston by 1650. [3]
Robert died in July 1653/4. [5]The inventory of his estate was take on January 19, 1654, leaving legacies to his wife Abigail and his children. [1][3]
After Robert's death, widow Abigail married second, Thomas Clap about 1657. [3] Thomas was born at Dorchester, England in 1597 and died on April 20, 1684 at Scituate. [1][2]
On April 15, 1665, widow Abigail Clapp, relict and administrix of the estate of Robert Sharpe, and her son John Sharp, petitioned the court for the division of the estate amongst the widow and children of Robert Sharpe, John being then age 22, daughter Abigail age about 17, and Mary age about 12, as Peter Aspinwall had managed the properties and estate up to this time.[3][6]
Widow Abigail married thirdly, about 1696, Captain William Holbrook. [3][2] William was baptized at St. Johns, Glastonbury, England on June 12, 1620, son of Thomas and Jane (Powys) Holbrooke. [7]
William Holbrook died at Scituate on July 3, 1699. [1][8]
Abigail deposed on November 4, 1701, that she was 78 years or thereabouts. [3]
Abigail Holbrookes will was written on November 28, 1702 and proved on February 13, 1707/8. Her son-in-law Stephen Tilden was executor. [3][9]
The inventory of the estate of Mrs. Alice Holbrook, late of Marshfield, deceased was taken on October 31, 1707. [3][9]
In it she names:
Abigail was born in 1629. She passed away in 1712.

Wright-643 and Wright-47118 appear to represent the same person because: I found profile 643 while looking over the spouse and 2 wives with the same name showed up.
The chronology is not possible in these profiles: The marriages and children of Abigail Wright-643 and Thomas Clapp-29 and Robert Sharp-141 and William Holbrook-3. Sons Thomas Clapp-243 and Increase Clapp-1917 are shown to be born 1639 and 1640 respectively but the marriage of Deacon Thomas Clapp-29 and Abigail Wright-643 Clapp is shown as 1657. Then there is Abigail Clapp-642 Tilden born 1659. Then the profiles show Abigail Wright-643 marrying William Holbrook-3 in 1696 when he is 76 years old and she is 73 years and they are supposed to have 11 Holbrook children, but William Holbrook dies in 1699, only 3 years after their 1696 marriage.

Wright-643 and Holbrook-1058 appear to represent the same person because: Wright-643 is correct LNAB for the wife of Thomas Clap. Holbrook-1058 should be merged into Wright-643, and LNAB corrected. Chris
This wife, married Thomas by 1639, should probably, mother of Samuel etc. should be changed to:
Jane LNAB = Unknown Married name =Clapp. Died about/by 1657 when Thomas married Abigail (LNAB Wright) Sharpe, widow of Robert Sharpe.
Abigail Holbrook Clap - should be Abigail LNAB= Wright, widow of Robert Sharpe, married 2nd about 1657, Thomas Clapp., married 3rd William Holbrook.
Wow someone has done a lot of work here. Thank you. Just finished merge and was trying to combine the notes. I tried but your html code is awesome. I may need to copy so I can do my profiles as well as this one. Nice work! Great sources too! I'm very impressed. You may want to fix my "I tried" notes
Wright-643 and Wright-6664 appear to represent the same person because: Please merge Wright-6664 into Wright-663. Same spouse, locations. Wright-6664 is sourced.
