William, the son of Thomas Wryde and his wife Jane, née Staveley, of Warter, who had been married at Kilnwick Percy, Yorkshire, on 20 November 1711[1], was born at Warter in 1716 and baptized at the parish church of St James at Warter on 19 November 1716.[2]
Marriage
William married Catherine Newton by banns at the parish church of St Michael at Thornton on Spalding Moor on 18 September 1737. Both William and Catherine were said to be from Fangfoss.[3]
Children
William and Catherine had five children:
Thomas, born at Barmby on the Moor in 1737 and baptized at the parish church of St Catherine at Barmby on the Moor on 9 December 1737[4]. Thomas died shortly afterwards and was buried at the parish church of St Catherine at Barmby on the Moor on 11 December 1737.[5]
William, born at Barmby on the Moor in 1739 and baptized at the parish church of St Catherine at Barmby on the Moor on 29 April 1739.[6]
Thomas, born at Barmby on the Moor in 1740 and baptized at the parish church of St Catherine at Barmby on the Moor on 6 July 1740.[7]
Elizabeth, born at Barmby on the Moor in 1742 and baptized at the parish church of St Catherine at Barmby on the Moor on 5 December 1742.[8] Elizabeth died in October 1743 and was buried at the parish church of St Catherine at Barmby on the Moor on 5 October 1743.[9]
Elizabeth, born at Barmby on the Moor in 1746 and baptized at the parish church of St Catherine at Barmby on the Moor on 28 December 1746.[10]
Death and Burial
William died, aged 75, at Barmby on the Moor on 6 February 1787 and was buried in the church yard at the parish church of St Catherine at Barmby on the Moor.[11]
