Antoni Wrzochalski was born in about 1860 and lived near Warszawas (Warsaw) in the section of Poland that was part of Russia in the 1800s. We know his name because his son, Jozef, listed his parents as Antoni Wrzochalski and Mary in his wedding license in 1903.[1] Antoni was probably born near the town of Płock, Warszawa, Russia, where Jozef Wrzochalski was born. Currently, there is no information on Antoni's wife's last name. Antoni was reported to be well off and the family had a hired cook. It is not known whether Jozef had other siblings.[2]
Antoni sent his son money after he immigrated to the United States. In family stories, it is reported that Antoni came to visit his son, Jozef Wrzochalski, and his wife, Jozefa Kocienska Wrzochalski, in Watervliet, New York, at least once. Antoni did not stay because he wanted to help manage the family finances and his son did not want him to. Antoni and Mary probably died in Warsaw before World War II. Currently, no church or burial records for Antoni or Mary have been located. The last name Wrzochalski is not that common in Poland.[3]
After Antoni died, his wife Mary sold all of her possessions and went to live in a nearby Catholic convent, according to family stories.
