Virginia was born in Thebes, Illinois at the house of Edward and Hattie Mansker on Sixth Street. Virginia was living with her parents during the 1930 census in St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri.[2] Her parents moved back to Thebes by 1935 and rented a house near (second house north) the northeast corner of 4th Street and Poplar Street and were also there during the 1940[3] census.
Virginia moved to Hawthorne, California in 1955 and worked at Magnavox for a while. She then got a job with the US Postal Service and retired with a pension. She and Bob Sears bought a house at 18528 Ermanita Ave in Torrance, California in 1962 for about $16,000.

Mom was retired from the Post Office. In 1988 she moved back to Alma Illinois. She and my distant cousin Penny batched together for a while. Mom bought her own place in 1984. It was a nice house out on Hwy 37.
