Biography

Charles Burton Wyatt, was the 2nd son of James and Rachel Wyatt, born 1777 probably in London.

Conclusion about Wyatt children London birth location is drawn from multiple facts. When a baptismal or primary birth record is located it will be added. The parents were married by early 1774. James had obtained a building lot in June 1774, at 1 Foley Pl for his residence and offices. Both he and brother Sam made the decision in 1774 to move their joint practices to independent offices in London 1774. The brilliant and precocious James, named an associate of the Royal Academy as early as 1770. was flooded with defined buildings by the time of his first child, so London was the hub of all events. [1] Charles was educated at Eton, and he along with brother Benjamin spent some time in a government position in India.

Do Not Confuse this Charles Wyatt with his cousin Charles Wyatt. Charles Wyatt (1758–1813) was an architect who worked in India; eldest son of William Wyatt (1734-1780). Uncle William Wyatt b 1734, was the 'businessman' running the contracts, withing the ever expanding Benjamin Wyatt Sr building, engineering, architectural empire centered around Blackbrook in Lichfield, Staffs. There also was a Charles Wyatt who is described as a cousin to James. He would have to have been part of James generation and a son of William Wyatt b 1701. That Charles became a producer (1797) of a patented technically superior cement, used for all the Wyatt family projects, including Windsor Castle and all the assignments with the King.

Charles, son of James, was capable enough to be named as Surveyor of Crown lands in Canada. Charles fell out with the governor of Upper Canada and became a wine merchant.
