Event: Anecdote Note: Living with grandparents, Roll and Nancy Wyatt at 1910 Census 920/1909--"Claude Wyatt, son of J. H. Wyatt, south of the city, has gone to Marion, Ill., to accept a position in a hardware store." 10/9/1909--"Claude Wyatt of near Cuba, has gone to Marion, Ill, where he will be on an extended visit to his mother."3/19/1931--"Firemen this morning were called to the Claude Wyatt residence, corner Seventh and Water Streets, to extinquish a fire. At least $2,000 damage was done by the flames, which were discovered on a portion of the roof and spread quickly. The fire origninated from defective flue. Member s of the family rushed from the house to find it on fire. The flames spread to the nearby residence of Will Joiner and Wyatt's filling station, but the fire companies kept the fire confined principally to the Wyatt residence. Much of the contents of the Wyatt home was saved."4/13/1931--"Claud Wyatt has sold the lumber from his residence, corner Seventh and Water Streets, to W. E. Allen and Curtis Kirkwood. The Wyatt residence was partially destroyed by fire several weeks ago and the site is being cleared. Wyatt plans to erect a business building on the location, while much of the house lumber will be used by Kirkwood in erecting an extension to his dry cleaning plant in south Mayfield." Deed from C. C. Wyatt to Claude Wyatt for 1/2 interest in land conveyed to C. C. Wyatt by J. H. Wyatt and Claude Wyatt on 3/26/1909 containing about 80 acres. Deed from Claude Wyatt to trustees of lodge IOOF, lot in Sedalia, 8/191909.Two deeds dividing the farm owned jointly by Claude Wyatt and J. E. Wyatt between J. E. Wyatt and Claude's daughter Claudine Mansfield.
