Jane was the daughter of the Right Honourable Sir Peter Wyche[1] and his wife, Jane, the daughter of Sir William Meredith,[2] of Stansley, Denbigh.[3] Sir Peter, Jane's father was the sixth son of Richard Wyche of London, gent, and his wife, Elizabeth Saltonstall, the daughter of Sir Richard Saltonstall, Knt, Alderman of London and Lord Mayor in 1598. Her father was appointed Ambassador at Constantinople in 1327, a post he held until 1641, after which he was a Privy Counsellor and Comptroller of the King's Household.[2]
Sir Peter Wyche, born in 1628 at London, Envoy Extraordinary to Russia in 1669, married on 19 February 1666, Isabella, the daughter of Sir Robert Bolles;
Sir Cyril Wych (Wyche), born in 1630 at Constantinople, chosen President of the Royal Society on 30 November 1683, died at Hockwold, Norfolk, on 29 December 1707;[3]

Jane married circa October 1652 Sir John Grenville, first Earl of Bath,[2][4] the son of Sir Bevil Grenville (Bevill Grenvile) and his wife, Grace Smythe, the daughter of Sir George Smythe alias Smith of Madford, Heavitree, Exeter.[5]
Jane and Sir John had children:
Jane, oldest daughter, baptised at Kilkhampton on 23 August 1653,[6] married to Wiliam Leveson Gower Esq;[7]
Grace, second child, baptised at St Giles in the Fields on 3 September, 1654;[6] married to George Lord Carteret, said to be the youngest daughter in her father's will?[7]
Charles Granville, Lord Lansdown, second Earl of Bath, baptised 31 August 1661, shot himself on 4 September 1701, married 1) by licence dated 22 May 1678, Lady Martha, the daughter of Sir Thomas Osborne, first Duke of Leeds, and 2) on 10 March 1691, Isabella, the daughter of Henry de Nassau, first Lord of Auberquerque, Count of Nassau,[1]
John Granville, born on 12 April 1665, died 3 December 1707, created Baron Granville of Potheridge on 13 March 1703, married on 15 April 1703 Rebecca, the daughter of Sir Josiah Child, first baronet, of Wanstead, Essex, and widow of Charles Somerset, Marquess of Worcester;[8]
