Mary Elizabeth Voilet McKinney Wylie was born in 1888 at Carnacree, Templepatrick, County Antrim, Ireland. She was the daughter of James Wylie, a school teacher, and Elizabeth Thompson[1].
In the 1901 Ireland census Mary E V Wylie was age 13 living at Rosemount Street, Belfast with her parents James Wylie (42), Elizabeth Wylie (34) and siblings Annie A Wylie (11), Kathleen M Wylie (8), John T Wylie (12), Wm James Wylie (7), Alfred J Wylie (5) and Gerald Douglas Wylie (1)[2].
In the 1911 Ireland census Mary E Violet Wylie was age 23 living at Rosemount Street, Belfast with her parents James Wylie (52) and Elizabeth Wylie (44) and siblings Annie Amelia Wylie (21), Kathleen Matilda Wylie (18), Eva Eileen Beatrice (9), Alice Marion (8), John Thompson Wylie (22), William James Wylie (17), Alfred Joseph Wylie (15) and Gerald Douglas Wylie (12)[3].
Mary Elizabeth Voilet Wylie married Matthew Harbison, a farmer, on 21 February 1917 at Rugby Avenue Congregational Church, Belfast[4]. The witnesses were Matthew's brother Samuel Harbison and Mary's sister Annie A Wylie.
Mary's husband Matthew Harbison died in 1949.
Mary Harbison died in 1968 in the Waveney Hospital, Ballymena, County Antrim. Her estate was administered by her brother Alfred J Wylie[5]
