John Wylie was born on 19 October 1782 in Boothbay, Maine. His parents were Robert Wylie and Mary (Kennedy) Wylie[1].
He married Martha Thompson on 2 February 1808 in Boothbay[2]. They had seven children[3]:
1. Joseph, born 4 Jan 1811; lost at sea
2. George, born 4 Jan 1811; lost at sea
3. Samuel Thompson, born 30 Jun 1813
4. Julia, born 20 Jun 1816; married 1st Edward Dodge, 2nd John Hodgdon
5. Elizabeth, born 18 Apr 1819; married Jacob Bryer
6. Sewall, born 11 Jun 1823; married Rebecca Matthews
7. John, born 12 Feb 1827; Abigail Giles
Martha died in 1833, and John married Sarah Dunton, a widow, on 12 October 12 October 1840 in Boothbay[4]. Their only two children died young[3].
John died on 21 October 1853 in Boothbay[3] and is buried in Kenniston Cemetery[5].
