My Grandmother and Grandfather Long were a large part of my childhood.

I remember Grandma playing Old Maid with me by the light of a kerosene lamp. She also made me a quilt that I still have. Often when we went to visit at Aunt Cora's she would be working a jigsaw puzzle which is something I like to do also. She went to Redlands,CA to visit one winter and Grandpa had Dad go with her. Consequently he graduated from Redlands High School.~~~~~ She died while she and Grandpa were visiting CA again. Before they left on that trip as I sat on her lap she gave me a red beaded necklace that had been made by her mother, Amanda. When Grandpa returned there was a sweater she had knitted for me. Our daughter inherited her needle skills from my Grandma Long and my husband's mother. A few Christmas ago Renee knit me an exact copy of the one Grandma made me using the buttons from the or original.
