Edwin Richard Wyndham-Quin was born on 19 May 1812. He was the son of Windham Henry Wyndham-Quin and Caroline Wyndham.
He was educated at Eton College and at Trinity College, Dublin
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Glamorgan between 1837 and 1851. He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Limerick between 1864 and 1871.
He was appointed Knight, Order of St. Patrick (K.P.) in 1866.
He died on 6 October 1871 at age 59.
