  • 6 Jun 1785, rec. 3 Oct 1791, Robert Christian of Amherst County, Virginia "being iin perfect health of body and of sound mind and memory"
    - wife: land where I now live with adjoining island, slaves: Dick, London, Martin, Fanna, and Mary, household and kitchen furniture, keep and educate children - learning suitable to my estate
    - pay out to each child at coming of age or marriage: one horse or mare, bridle and saddle, two cows or calves, feather bed and furniture
    - son Drury: slave boy Daniel, sorrel mare and saddle, feather bed and furniture, use of tract of land where Thomas Ridgway lived until son Robert is of age
    - daughter Lucy Bradley: slave girl Sarah, bay mare colt, bridle and saddle, feather bed and furniture, two cows and calves<br- sons Robert, Samuel, and Abner and daughters Mary, Martha, and Sophia: each to have a slave, horse or mare, bridle and saddle, feather bed and furniture, two cows and calves of equal value to those devised to son Drury and daughter Lucy
    - daughter Salley: two slaves of equal value to those I have given, horse or mare, bridle and saddle, feather bed and furniture, two cows and calves
    - Each child not to have legacies before they come of age or are married. After son Robert comes of age all land not reserved for wife to be sold and proceeds divided equally among children
    - after wife's decease land should be sold and proceeds divided equally among children; slaves with increase remaining after specific bequests to be divided equally among children
    if any of my children should die before coming of age and without heirs: divide their part equally among other children
    - if wife should bear a child after my death: receive equal part of my estate with other children
    wife to have full use of slaves until each child comes of age or marries
    - if wife should give out any more, should be equally among children
