Biography

Harmon was born in about 1800. He was the son of Josiah Wynne and Mary Whitley. Harman may have died during, or shortly after, the move to Wisconsin. He completely disappears after the 1850 Census. Hannah was in Wisconsin in 1860 but had moved, with some of her children, to Union Co., Dakota Territory by 1870. She died there in 1894.

This profile previously included data for a Harman Wynn who was a Private in the Mounted Regiment of Arkansas Infantry during the Mexican-American War. There was a man named Harman Wynn on the muster rolls, but he was 18 years old when he enlisted 29 June 1846, and he was killed in action at Buena Vista, Mexico 23 February 1847. He was not the same man profiled here.

Harman married Hannah Thompson in 1831 in Tazewell Co. Harman and Hannah had several children, all born in Tazewell Co. Around 1855-56, Hannah and Harman moved to Wisconsin. Hannah's brother, George, and sister, Rebecca, and their families, made the same move. A couple of Harman's children remained in Tazewell Co. and/or moved to South Dakota later.

Wynne-1031 and Wynn-767 appear to represent the same person because: The two profiles appear to be duplicates except for the spelling of the surname. Same DOB, same wife, etc.
