Biography

Owen was the son of Lewis Gwynne ap Cadwallader ap Rydderca ap David and Sidney Wynne.^[1]

Owen Wynne was the first of the family to settle in Ireland. ^[2]

Col Owen Wynne of Lurganboy, Co Leitrim married Catherine Hamilton, daughter of Sir John Hamilton, 2nd Baron Strabane and earl of Abercorn. OR another source says Catherine Hamilton was the relict of Sir James Hamilton and daughter of Claud Hamilton, 2nd Baron of Strabane. ^[3]

Children included:

1. James married Catherine Bingham, dau of John Bingham
2. Lewis married Rebecca Bingham, dau of John Bingham
3. Owen born 1665
4. John born about 1690 died 1747 unmarried
5. Lucy married Col John Folliott of Hollybrook
6. Catherine married John Dunbar, son of Sir John Dunbar by Lady Strathmore
7. Dorothy married Gerald Cuffe, grandfather of Lord Tyrawley

He died in 1670 or 1671.^[4]
