William Wynne was on the 19 December 1702 baptized on 26 December 1702 at Llangollen Church, Church Street, Llangollen, Denbighshire, Wales. He was the son of Edward and Jane Wynne of Llangollen.[1]
He lived later on the farm Yr Erw Hir in Vivod, near Llangollen, which had been owned by his great-uncle, William Powell, and was bequeathed to William Wynne in 1738. William Wynne was buried on 1 April 1746 in the churchyard of Llangollen Church.
William Wynne's father, Edward Wynne, was the eldest son of another William Wynne, a farmer in Vivod, and his wife Jane Wynne. This William Wynne died in 1697.
A brother of this William Wynne was another Edward Wynne who lived in Glyn Vechan in the parish of Llansantffraid Glyn Ceiriog, Denbighshire. He owned Vivod Hall (Plas-yn-Vivod) in Vivod. This Edward Wynne died in 1690.
The second son of this William Wynne was John Wynne, who lived in Vivod. The first name of John Wynne's wife was Ellen. John Wynne was buried on 25 December 1699 in the Llangollen churchyard.
His brother, William Wynne's third son, was Kenrick Wynne, who also lived in Vivod. Kenrick Wynne died unmarried and was buried on 17 March 1709 in the Llangollen churchyard. In his will, Kenrick Wynne founded a charity by bequeathing 20 pounds with the interest to be used at the discretion of the churchwardens for the "poor people of Trian Llangollen and Trevor".
The fourth brother, Eubule Wynne, was baptized on 19 May 1673. His wife's first name was Gwen. He was living at Vivod Hall in 1707. His children were Richard, Catherine, Jane, Kenrick, Mary, Thomas, Grace, Elizabeth and John Wynne.
There was also a sister called Mary Wynne, whose husband's first name was Robert. Their children were Henry, William, John and Richard ap Robert.
Another sister of Edward, John and Kenrick Wynne was Jane Wynne, who married Hugh Humphreys of Glyn Vechan. Their children were Edward and Humphrey Hughes.
The mother of the William Wynne who is the subject of this profile was Jane (Edwards) Wynne, who was born in around 1670. Jane Edwards married Edward Wynne in 1702 in Llangollen. After her husband's death in 1708 she went with her younger son Edward Wynne to live at Dolfâwr in Rhysgog near Llangollen. She was buried on 17 June 1752 in the Llangollen churchyard.
