Communication Preferences:
I am interested in communicating with
anyone who shares the same genealogical or historical interests.
I don't know much about my family tree yet.
i and my cousin have been baffled by Warner and Emma Gains. No paperwork found prior to 1880 Navarro, TX, yet the census tells us they were married 1860. Emma no maiden name born in Alabama around 1837 and Warner Gains born in Virginia around 1842. Really could use some help.

Thanks for self-certifying for pre-1700 profiles. Our community relies upon you to now adhere to our pre-1700 standard of not creating pre-1700 profiles without first having a source to cite added to the profile. In the case of Lawrence Macgue (1650-1740) and Alice Macgue (1650-1750), you created these profiles and did not include a source yet.
Please go back to these profiles to add at least one reliable source before creating other pre-1700 profiles. If you need help finding a source, please look to a project that would cover them. I'd suggest a project, but there is no geographical information on either profile for me to find a project for you. Which is one reason why we ask that you please try to provide at least a birth or death location estimate rather than leaving both locations blank. This helps disambiguate people since we have a global tree, locations help distinguish one profile of the same name from another. Even an estimate such as a continent, e.g., Europe or North America, is better than blank. Please read more here. You can explain the rationale for your estimate in a = = Research Notes = = section.
Please let me know if you have any questions on any of this.
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
