Biography

Phillip Henry Yancy was born on 03 July 1825 in Tennessee and was the son of Alfred Moore Yancey and Lucy. He married Sophronia A. Carden in 1842 in Reform, Pickens County, Alabama. He had 13 children.

In 1830, Phillip was enumerated in the household of his parents in Giles COunty, Tennessee.

From 1862 to 1864, Phillip served in Company F, Stone's Alabama Regiment of the CSA. His wife Sophronia later received a widow's pension for his service.
