Biography

Thomas was born on September 5th, 1883 in Arkansas.[1] He was the oldest son of Alfred Yarborough and Cotna Young. 1 of at least 9 children Fayette and his siblings grew up around Logan County Arkansas. In 1900 he can be seen working with his father farming.[2]

On October 14th, 1906 he married Leona Hamilton in Logan County.[3] The young couple stayed in Boone in Logan County where they had at least 3 children; Cotna, Herman & Jim.[4]

Unfortunately Leona passed away on June 6th, 1914 leaving Fayette alone with their 3 young children. He then married Carrie Lloyd with whom he would have 3 more children; Billy, Willie and Wyndell. The family continuged to live in Boone where Lafayette supported his family through farming.[5][6]

Fayette registered for the WWI draft under the name Fate on September 12th, 1918. The clerk listed him as being medium height and medium build with grey eyes and light colored hair. It is further noted that he had lost his left eye.[7]

Fayette passed away on January 14th, 1942 in Logan County.[8] He was laid to rest in the Cauthron Memorial Gardens in Cauthron, Logan County, Arkansas.[9] He left behind his wife Carrie and several of his children.

Thomas was born about 1883 and died on January 14, 1942. Thirty seven years later this date would become his great great granddaughter's birthday. "Fayette" as he was sometimes called, married Leona Hamilton and had 3children including Jim Lafayette Yarborough. Fayette had another nickname, "T.L." He later married Mrs. Curtis Lloyd (nee Carrie Hamilton) with whom he had one child. Could this be the sister of his first wife Leona Hamilton?
