Biography
Burtron was born in 1871. He was the son of William Yarnell and Julia Messplay. He passed away in 1918.
Sources
- Enlisted in Company H of the 17th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment on 25 May 1861 and was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on 25 April 1862. Was attached to Company E of the 8th Illinois Infantry at Vicksburg on 4 Jun 1864 and promoted to 1st Lieutenant on 17 Nov 1864. He was discharged on 4 May 1866 at Baton Rouge, LA.
- On 17 Sep 1867, he married Ms. Julia E Messplay at Lewistown, Illinois.
- In 1873, they moved to Clarinda, Iowa and then in 1875 to Los Angeles, California where he lived in the county for the rest of his life.
