Sibella Yates was born Augsut 17, 1763, in Loudoun county, Virginia, a daughter of Joshua and Nancy Yates (aka Yeates)

In 1784, in Loudoun county, Virginia, Sibella married William Owsley, born circa 1763, in Virginia, a son of John Owsley and Ann Adams. Sibella (Sibellen?) and William became the parents of as many as seven children:

  • Micajah Owlsey, born 1785, in Virginia, died 1849, married Martha "Patsy" Boylston
  • Celia Owsley, born August 9, 1789, died October 26, 1877, in Milton, Trimble county, Kentucky, married Michael Maddox
  • Willice Y. Ousley, born 1797, died in July, 1854, married Tenepy Brown
  • Elizabeth Ousely, born 1798, in Kentucky married A.W. Cannon
  • Lucinda Patience Owsley, born April 4, 1800, in Kentucky, died September 6, 1869, in Jefferson Township, Morgan county, Indiana, married Joshua Joseph Mayfield
  • Jephtha Ousley, born 1806, in Kentucky, died in December, 1867, in Clarksville, Pike county, Missouri, married Eunice Brown
  • Susan Owsley, born 1808, in Kentucky, married R.W. Graham

Sibella died January 30, 1809, in Montgomery county, Kentucky. William died in 1823, in Ste Genevieve, Missouri.
