Annie Frances Victoria Yates was born on the 6th August 1901 her birth was registered in the 3rd quarter (Jul-Aug-Sep) of 1901 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. She was the first child born in the family. Annie life was short but treasured and her loss at only three months was a tragedy.
As the 1901 census shows her parents lining in Norfolk it can be presumed that they travelled south for her birth, probably to be with other family or possibly with her fathers work as a gardener for a family with a home both in Norfolk and the Surrey Buckinghamshire areas.
Her parents travelled across, down and up again through the English countryside from Buckinghamshire where Annies was born to Norfolk where Annie sadly died. The journey in 1901 was long about 200 miles, it would have taken the family through or around the outskirts of London, then on up to Cambridge through most of Norfolk before finally reaching Freebridge Lynn, in Norfolk a rural area of the country. At the time of their travel even by rail it would have been a difficult journey.
